NEW YEAR'S MAPLE COCKTAIL
(Ingredients for 1 cocktail)
1/4 cup frozen cranberries
1/2 oz dark maple syrup (preferably dark for its robust flavor)
1 oz acerum, ideally aged; if unavailable, use white
1 oz freshly squeezed pink grapefruit juice
2 oz sparkling acer
1 frozen cranberry coated in maple sugar, for garnish
INSTRUCTIONS
In a shaker, muddle the frozen cranberries with the maple syrup.
Add the acerum and grapefruit juice, fill with ice, and shake well.
Strain through a fine mesh sieve into a champagne flute.
Top with well-chilled sparkling acer.
Skewer a frozen cranberry on a cocktail pick, dip it in maple syrup, and coat it with fine maple sugar.
Place the cocktail pick on the edge of the flute.
